How do I calculate the required average world temperature for specifically-sized polar ice caps?

I know the average world temperature is 59掳 F. How do I calculate what the average world temperature would need to be for the ice caps to generally/on average be at, say, 32掳 North/South, or any other specific latitude?|||In my opinion, I don't think this would be very difficult to determine since the energy is not evenly distributed , the earth circulation is not uniform or constant, and temperature sensors for estimating the earth surface temperatures are mot evenly collected in a grids like system or a even density fashion.

I need to calculate the average velocity of vehicles on a road within a given time frame. In essence i need some statistics about roads within a road network( one of them is average velocity) for a tune frame.

I have been writing a fiction story and was wondering if anyone could give me a general idea of how long an average fiction story is and how many words an average book is. I am not really sure were to start with trying to find out this information so if you could give links it would help as well. Up to 1000 words= short story/ flash fiction


1000-6000 words= short story


6000-15000 words= long story/ novelette


15000-45000 words= novella

However, you should write the book at whatever length it needs to be, and that novel word count seems pretty low when you look at some of the books getting published today. If you have publishing in mind, some agents/publishers are wary of taking very long books from beginners. If you're writing for a younger audience, the average word count is typically shorter, too.


Still, I say write your book however you want it. If you find a publisher and they request cuts, you can deal with that as it comes.

Silly person.|||A GOOD fiction book is at LEAST 24 chaps. long.|||It depends on the genre, the page size, the text size, and the audience. If it's a childrens book, somewhere between 60-100 pages. If it's a teenager or higher book, anywhere from 200-500 pages. Fantasy stories are normally longer then sci fi, and sci fi are longer then historical fiction/realistic fiction.|||If you are interested in writing a novel, you might as well learn to start speaking like a novelist. Mentioning length in terms of pages or chapters is amateur and makes you sound like a hack.. Authors refer to length in words. An average novel is approximately 90 - 140 thousand words. If you want to break that down into pages, divide buy 250 words per page.

|||I think that average would be around 65-70.. If you are testing at one of the pens that are set up at a ball park they are not very accurate, but I think anyone new that is not worried about control could probably muster up a 65mph HEATER!

|||I'm 14 also, and I play on one of the most elite traveling teams i Florida. I throw around 75, but I'm a catcher. The pitchers on are team are between 77-83. We have one kid who can hit 87 though.





The fastest we have faced is 87, but normally it is between 72-81.





But throwing speed depends on a lot of things like arm slot, arm strength, and mechanics.|||Average male (16-50 y/o) would probably be able to throw it 55-65 MPH.

I had a friend who got a great apartment in the John Hancock Building. Sweet, but he barely had money left over for bills after paying the rent, etc. It was like being a prisoner in the world's swankiest jail cell.

What is the estimated weight of the gear soldiers carry now? Thank you! Its for my history project.|||I carried 10 mags, loaded with 28rds each, plus one mag in the gun for a total of 308rds. I carried 2 M-67 frags. Front and rear SAPI plates weigh 14lbs together. Side SAPI's 4lbs a piece for a total of 8lbs. Give or take. Interceptor vest weighed like 7lbs. 2liters of water, and a Kbar. That was my combat load. I don't know the weight of the PRC-119, but if its the non-Foxtot, its heavy, you might want to wikipedia that, as somebody in the squad always had to haul a radio around.


SAW gunners usually had about 1000rds+ and 2frags. Being blessed to carry the M-249 SAW adds quite a bit to the load. More ammo, A-barrel(second barrel for changes). The weapons system is like 26lbs if I remember correctly. When I carried the 203 grenade launcher attached to my M-16, it added like 2lbs or so to the rifle. I was a team leader so I had to carry an assortment of 40mm grenades. 5 or so HE or HEDP (high explosive and High explosive dual purpose), some smoke marking rds and flares as well. We always brought NVG's as well, as sometimes we wouldn't know when we'd get back to the FOB(foreward opperating base) sometimes a mission would be 4hrs, sometimes 4days. Usually we'd also have 2 field stripped (throw away the crap you won't eat) MRE's. Also an IFAK (Individual First Aid kit). PEQ-2 laser aiming device as a weapon attachment. ACOG. Shurefire. Gerber multi-tool.|||The "Basic Load" for a modern Riflemen is 7x30 round mags for a total of 210 rounds of 5.56 Ammo.

If the average sell rate is strong enough to counter the additional jet fuel burned - this can be an important variable to the profitability of the flight.|||There are so many different airlines operating the 747 and they all have such different cost structures that any "average" would be a almost meaningless. I'll give it a shot using the link provided which gives an excellent picture of airline economics. The link is based on a 737 and shows a profit of 545 pounds on a single flight.





Since a 747 carries about 3X as many passengers and flies longer routes so the fares I'll guess are about 3X as high my guess is 3.000 pounds per flight based on 2003 pounds.





How long before it becomes profitable? Probably never. There have been dozens of attempts to start a new airline over the last 5 years or so using every conceivable business model and every one I know of has either gone bankrupt or is in financial difficulty. The most successful one I know of is Kingfisher which has become the largest airline in India over the last 5 years and is still losing money.|||Sorry I can't give you any numbers... but are you asking profit or revenue? I have studied the period for a while now but never quite heard consistent reports on how well armed the average infantryman was. If you could show weapons, armor and eqiupment for the average longbow man and infantryman it would be appreciated.|||There is no consistency because there was no standing army men-at-arms (frequently professional soldiers) were provided by noblemen as part of their oath of allegiance to the king under the feudal system. The knight also had to provide weapons and armour which is costly, so the richer nobleman could afford to kit his men in full chainmail, shields and steel helmets, arm them with swords and all the other sidearms, the really rich could afford to mount some troops with plate armour, archers were also provided through the noblemen, apart from the obvious bows they were armed with weapons for individual protection (seaxes, clubs, mauls, hammers and morningstars) and with a method of finishing off wounded soldiers and knights (often daggers known as mercygivers).





Medieval weapons and armour were not cheap nor could anyone pick up a weapon and use it effectively 鈥?swords for example require strength and technique to use, a longbow was impossible to use without years of practice and use, the extraordinary strength required to pull a longbow was only acquired by constant use of the weapon. Got into a discussion with my friends earlier today over how well off the average person is with only a bachelors degree from college. Obviously some make millions and some fail at life after college, but how good does the average person do with only a bachelors degree and if you could estimate, what would their average yearly income be? And Im not talking about straight out of college, I mean about 10 years and more after college.|||There's no way to answer this. You'll see a bunch of surveys showing different things, and though one can generalize a graduate degree COULD earn you more money, it doesn't mean in any way that it automatically guarantees you more earnings.





Some professions simply have high entry barriers, requiring a degree beyond a bachelors. Notable ones include being a physician and many other medical specialties such as a nurse practitioner. Engineering R%26amp;D positions (highest paying in engineering) typically require a graduate degree just to have your application looked at. CPAs in most states have the 150 credit rule, which means go beyond the regular 4 year plan. So while these professions are high paying, you cannot even go into them without the added ed.





Meanwhile, there's a ton of graduate degrees that may never lead to higher earnings. In fact, considering the tuition and opportunity cost, it actually places a lot of students into heavy burdening debt for the rest of their lives. This is a serious problem that the US needs to examine, but politicians are too afraid to do so (a bipartisan thing too, so don't need to take sides).





Problem is aggrevated by how you'll see surveys showing income brackets for various majors. This is largely by far utter nonsense since the surveys dont include (or conveniently "reject" due to what they consider spurious data) grads who are hopelessly unemployed or those that are too ashamed to show how they are working for $9.50 an hour at Walmart.|||It really depends on what the degree is in. Engineering and science majors typically do very well. Nurses also typically do well.





Other majors like English, history, etc. typically don't do as well, but still if the right opportunity comes along, they can do well too.





Much of it depends on where the person lives (people in cities typically do better), what industry they are in, whether they got any lucky breaks, how hard they work, etc. etc.
