I know that is varies from author to author, but are there any statistics on the average? What is the average amount of copies usually sold? How much does a hardcover/paperback sell for?|||Steve Weber tells us that out of 150,000 books published each year, 100,000 will sell less than 100 copies.
An author will take between 7% and 15% of the cover price, so work it out for yourself - not much.
If you're planning on becoming a writer, don't give up your day job.
