What is the average salary for an insurance underwriter?

I work as an insurance underwriter in the Houston, TX area and am curious as to what the average salary is for this position. So if this is your line of work or know someone who is, what is the average salary? The company I work for offers great benefits, paid vacation and PTO-health benefits and 401k but I think i'm getting stiffed on the salary considering my workload and job description. Their average base salary is anywhere from $50,000 up to $100,000. It all depends on experience, education, etc. Commercial underwriters typically are paid a little higher than personal lines or life underwriters.
